  9. Introduction
  10. ------------
  11. It cannot have failed to escape your attention that Acorn have recently been
  12. developing a new web browser. The main advantages of this over ArcWeb are
  13. that is it is much faster, and supports frames, tables and animated GIFs to
  14. a greater extent. The down side is that all your old Bookmarks files will be
  15. useless with Browse.

  17. This is where Bookmarks comes in. It will take your ArcWeb bookmarks
  18. directory, process it, and output an HTML hotlist suitable for Browse.

  20. This program is also suitable for converting Bookmarks created using
  21. Argonet's WebVoyage browser. Output bookmarks files can be used with
  22. VoyBrowse.

  24. Requirements
  25. ------------
  26. RISC OS 3.1 and a copy of the new universal !Boot sequence.

  28. Step-by-step
  29. ------------
  30. Run Browse and then quit. This ensures that directories, etc. are set up.
  31. Run Bookmarks. It will stick an icon on the icon bar.
  32.  
  33. Hunt around inside ArcWeb's cache for the Bookmarks directory. Drag the whole
  34. directory (not the individual files) to the icon. A window will pop up.

  36. Select either VoyBrowse or Browse and click OK. Note that this will overwrite
  37. your existing BookMarks file if you have one. It may be better to select
  38. 'Other' and drag the Bookmarks file to a suitable place, before using the
  39. merge feature to incorporate these into Browse's hotlist.
